Greetings Dear Reader! I'm an American traveler who has toured 81 countries with my wonderful husband. World travel has been a lifetime goal. Experiencing cultures from the other side of the world, connecting with others while developing lasting friendships, conquering new language skills, and learning about world's diversity is what I enjoy most. From the wisdom of Roy T. Bennett: “𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮.” I hope you will enjoy reading my blogs as much as I enjoy writing them. I would love to read about your adventures and passions as well! Happy Travels!

  1. Thank you for the great review of Lima and Machu Picchu. Can you tell me, did you arrange your own travel or did you use a tour agency? Also, did you feel it was safe walking in Lima on your own?

  2. Thank you for reading my blog. We booked our travel through an all-inclusive company called Gate1. Our flights, hotels, transportation, some meals and tours were included in the price of the trip. It was important to us to have “guaranteed access” to Machu Picchu. Booking through a reputable company gave us the confidence we needed for our journey to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) to be successful. There were some Gate1 scheduled activities that we chose not to participate in so that we could customize our own itinerary. This was especially true while in Lima, which we found to be extremely safe. There were security officers on every corner of the city. Many of these public officials allowed us to take photos with them and even assisted us with directions. You do not need to feel intimidated about walking around in Lima on your own. Happy Travels!
